We’ve seen many games conceptualized with Unreal Engine 5 before. However, a new project has divided social media with its ultra-realistic images. Counter-Strike’s legendary map Dust2 has been redesigned with Unreal Engine 5.
Counter-Strike map Dust2 remade with Unreal Engine 5
The iconic Counter-Strike map Dust2 has been redeveloped by an independent developer. The concept art, created using Unreal Engine 5, has created a huge buzz among gamers. Many claimed that the 6-minute video was made in the real world.
The developer captured the legendary map in incredible detail. It also offers an even more realistic look by traveling the map with a first-person camera. Using Unreal Engine 5’s state-of-the-art lighting capabilities, the developer recreated the map’s distinctive areas.
The response from Counter-Strike fans has been overwhelmingly positive. Many players said the video was indistinguishable from real footage.
According to the developer, there are some minor geographical differences in the classic Dust2 map. However, the iconic bomb site and the center passage are detailed. Players also said that the look and feel of the map has been faithfully recreated.
It’s not possible to play Counter-Strike on the redesigned map, even though it’s quite successful. The developer stated that this work is only a concept.
We have seen a similar realistic game before. The ultra-realistic game called Unrecorded managed to make a big impact in the gaming world with its trailer videos.
